Judge Michael Silverstein: 15 Who Made a Difference in 2015

Judge Michael Silverstein
Rhode Island Superior Court Judge Michael Silverstein, who is overseeing the State of Rhode Island’s lawsuit against numerous defendants over the failed 38 Studios deal, decreed what could be a pivotal move in the investigation, when he allowed more than 10,000 pages of previously unseen testimony to be be revealed to the public in September

The move has provided the House Oversight Committee with materials to conduct an ongoing look into the origins of the 38 Studios deal, the players involved, and who knew what, and when. Subpoenas have been issued for Curt Schilling (who says living in Massachusetts, he has yet to be served — among other points in his recent blog), and now for Michael Corso and Steven Costantino (read highlights of his state lawsuit testimony HERE).

And when financial giant Wells Fargo attempted to get some of the documents redacted, Silverstein summarily dismissed the entreaty — so that the public wouldn’t be denied a clearer picture as to what exactly took place.  Five years after the deal was cut, and over three years after the company went under, leaving taxpayers on the hook, Rhode Islanders are still clamoring to know if there was any criminal wrongdoing - with no word yet from the State Police investigation.
