Police Make Three More Arrests in Carolina Avenue Shooting — Around Corner From Elorza’s House

Providence Police have made three more arrests in connection to the mass Carolina Avenue shooting on May 10 — the worst in the city’s history.

According to police, the suspects were arrested on Saturday night at 34 Dorchester Avenue, which is around the corner from Providence Mayor Jorge Elorza’s house at 35 Deborah Street.

Those arrested include a juvenile; David Carides, age 23; and Daniel Carides, age 26.

Last fall, police investigated a shooting at 34 Dorchester Avenue — which they say is a “known gang hangout.”

The arrests come after multiple men were charged earlier in the week in conjunction with the Carolina Avenue shooting.
