Shooting on Smith Hill in Providence

Providence police responded to a shooting on Smith Street in Providence on Saturday afternoon.

According to police, a 32-year-old man was shot by the 7-Eleven.

He was sitting in his vehicle and struck once.

The victim, who has not been identified, was taken to Rhode Island Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

Senator Maryellen Goodwin posted about the incident on Saturday.

“Another shooting at 7-11 on Smith Street,” she wrote, of the police presence. 

“Oh god, when is it going to stop? Please remember this young man and his family I saw leaving by rescue, praying he is OK,” she continued.
