Two Men Report Being Shot at While Sitting in Car in Providence, Police Investigating

Providence police are investigating a report of shots fired at a vehicle overnight, while occupants were sitting inside.

The latest report of gun violence in the city comes after multiple people were injured in a shooting over the weekend inside a Providence nightclub -- including one critically.

Latest in Providence 

Shortly after 11 p.m. Sunday night, police responded to multiple reports of shots fired on Cyr Street by Roger Williams Park in Providence. 

When police arrived, they saw two men sitting in a vehicle trying unsuccessfully to start their car. 

The men told police they had been shot at; police observed bullet holes in the front of the vehicle. 

Police are currently investigating.
