URI vs Harvard

Friday night’s game will be the fifth meeting all-time between the two teams with the Crimson holding a 3-1 series lead.

In last season’s matchup, the Rams defeated Harvard 17-10 at Meade Stadium.

Harvard had won the previous three games.

URI Offense

On offense, the Rams will be led by quarterback JaJuan Lawson.

In Rhode Island’s last game against UConn, Lawson accounted for 436 yards of total offense and six touchdowns. He completed 23-of-34 passes for a career-high 351 yards and four touchdowns.

He also ran for a career-high 85 yards and two touchdowns, one of which came on a career-long 37-yard rush.

Lawson’s main weapons are wide receivers, Aaron Parker and Isaiah Coulter.

Coulter and Parker have combined for 39 catches, 583 receiving yards, and four touchdowns this season.

Coulter is averaging 6.67 and Parker averages 6.33.

"Isaiah's been extremely consistent, he's getting better and better with his route running and his habits are becoming the kinds that are necessary for him to continue to improve," said URI head coach Jim Fleming.

URI Defense

On the defensive side of the ball, the Rams have been amongst the best in the country.

Rhode Island enters the game tied for fourth in CAA Football with eight sacks through the first three games.

In each of the last two games, the Rams had a player record multiple sacks.

Senior linebacker Nas Jones had two at UConn, while junior L.B. Mack III did it against Albany.

Rhode Island is also forcing turnovers at a high rate.

Through the first three games, the Rams have seven fumble recoveries.
