The Red Sox have won 7 of their last 10 games and improve to 36-28 on the season.

Red Sox Walk-Off

With the game tied at three in the bottom of the 12th, Benintendi hit a line drive single down the first base line to score Xander Bogaerts from third base to give the Red Sox the 4-3 win.

Prior to that, the Red Sox jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second inning when catcher Christian Vazquez hit a double to right, scoring Jackie Bradley Jr.

The Phillies tied the game at 2 in the top of the third when Altherr hit a two-run home run off Red Sox pitcher David Price.

Price went six innings, gave up three runs on four hits while walking four and striking out six.

The Red Sox would retake the lead in the bottom of the third on a home run by Mitch Moreland, before the Phillies would tie the game at three in the sixth.

Before Benintendi’s 12th inning heroics, the Red Sox struggled to score runs throughout the night. They left 12 runners on base and were only 2 for 12 with runners in scoring position.

Series Shifts to Philadelphia

The Red Sox and Phillies will continue their series on Wednesday, June 14 in Philadelphia. First pitch is set for 7 p.m.

The pitching matchup is Boston’s Brian Johnson against Philadelphia’s Jeremy Hellickson.
