Bryant Football Edges Long Island 27-22 for Second Straight Win

The Bryant Bulldogs earned their second straight win on Saturday afternoon, edging Long Island (LIU) 27-22 at Beirne Stadium in Smithfield.

Bryant improves to 2-5 on the season, while Long Island drops to 0-5.

With the game tied 10-10 at the start of the third quarter, junior Jack Agnew forced a fumble and recovered it at the LIU 5 yard line.

On the very next play, Bryant quarterback Kory Curtis connected with Jihad Edmond to give Bryant a 17-10 lead. 

The touchdown was Edmond’s first of his career.

Bryant pushed its lead to 24-10 with a six-play, 68-yard drive capped off by a Daniel Adeboboye 39-yard touchdown run to give the Bulldogs a 24-10 lead. 

Adeboboye finished the game with a career-high 145 yards rushing.

The Bulldogs pushed their lead to 27-10 on a field goal, before Long Island rallied.

LIU scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter, including a two-yard touchdown run by Clay Beathard to cut the Bulldogs lead to five points, 27-22, with 5:34 to play.

In Long Island’s final possession of the game, the Sharks managed to get to the Bulldogs’ 35-yard line, however, a fourth-down pass fell incomplete to seal the Bryant win.

Bryant returns to action on Saturday, October 19 when they visit Central Connecticut.

Game time is set for 1 p.m.
