Nate Leaman: 15 Who Made a Difference in 2015

In his fourth season as head coach of the Providence College men's hockey team, Nate Leaman led the Friars to the programs first ever national championship win, beating Boston University 4-3 at the TD Garden in Boston.  The title marked the first NCAA team title in a men's sport and the College's third overall NCAA Championship in a team sport. The national title was a major reason why Providence College was named by GoLocal as the best men's sports program in the country per capita.

For an encore performance, this year's Friars team is ranked #1 in the country and is undefeated at 12-0-3 on the season. Leaman has also helped in recruiting some of the best players. This year's Friar squad consists of seven freshman, three of which are NHL draft picks. Overall, Providence has eight NHL draft picks on their roster.

Nate Leaman came to Providence College for the 2011-12 season after spending eight years at Union where he helped build their 2014 national championship team. In his time at PC, the Friars have advanced to the Hockey East Championship semifinals at the TD Garden in three of the first four seasons and the Friars holds a 5-1 record in six NCAA Tournament appearances.  Providence has appeared in back to back NCAA Tournaments for the first time in program history and is seeking a third straight appearance this season.
