URI Football Visits Albany on Saturday Seeking 1st Conference Win

The URI Rams football team returns to conference action on Saturday when they visit the Albany Great Danes.

The Rams are currently 1-5 overall and 0-3 in the CAAA, while Albany is 4-3 overall and 2-1 in conference.

Game time is set for 3:30 p.m.

URI vs Albany

Saturday marks the seventh game between the programs.

Both sides have won three times in the series.

URI is looking for its third straight victory over the Great Danes.

The Rams won 45-26 last season at home, and won 31-14 in its last visit to Albany in 2017.

URI Offense

Entering Saturday’s game against Albany, the Rams offense is averaging 26 points and 400 total yards per game.

Led by quarterback Vito Priore, URI averages 333 yards through the air, but just 67 yards per game on the ground.

On the season, Priore has completed 163 of 258 passes for 2,003 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Senior wide receiver Aaron Parker has 2,982 career receiving yards.

He ranks second in team history, and needs just 18 more yards to join tight end Brian Forster (1983-85, '87) as the only 3,000-yard receivers for the Rams. 

Isaiah Coulter follows up Parker with 43 catches for 657 yards and four touchdowns.

URI Defense

Through six games this season, the URI defense is allowing 34 points and 489 total yards per game.

The Rams defense is led by Brandon Javier-Castillo, who had 63 total tackles and one sack on the season.

He averages 10.5 tackles per game.

Brian Campbell, Andre Johnson and Jim Philistin each lead the way with 1.5 sacks on the year.

URI as a team has seven sacks on the year.
