URI Football Climbs to #17 in National Poll

URI Football is ranked #17 in country
The University of Rhode Island football team climbed to 17th in the country in the latest AFCA FCS Coaches Poll released on Monday.

This marks the second straight week in which the Rams moved up three spots after they were ranked 20th last week, and 23rd the week before. 

Rhode Island received 205 points to finish one spot ahead of #18 Central Arkansas, which had been No. 12 in the poll last week. One spot ahead of Rhode Island is #16 Sam Houston State with 242 points

URI This Season

The Rams are currently 3-1 on the season following a 23-16 victory over Harvard on Friday night.

URI opened up the season by edging #15 Delaware 21-19 on the road and then beating Albany 45-26 the following week.

Rhode Island’s only loss came in a road game against Connecticut.

Next Up

The Rams return to action Saturday, October 6 when they host Brown University in the Governor’s Cup game.

Game time is set for 1 p.m.
