URI Football Visits William & Mary on Saturday

The University of Rhode Island football team hits the road to face William & Mary on Saturday afternoon.

The Rams (2-7, 0-5 CAA) will look to build off of last week’s 42-14 win over Merrimack, while William & Mary comes in with a record of 3-4 overall and 2-2 in the conference.

Game time is set for 1 p.m.

URI vs Merrimack

Saturday is the 18th meeting between the two programs with William & Mary leading the all-time series 13-4.

However, URI won last seasons’ meeting 21-10.

URI Offense

Entering Saturday’s game, the Rams offense is averaging 26 points and 401 total yards per game.

Led by quarterback Vito Priore, URI averages 312 yards through the air, but just 89 yards per game on the ground.

On the season, Priore has completed 228 of 371 passes for 2,780 yards and 18 touchdowns.

Senior wide receiver Aaron Parker has 201 receptions in his career, which ranks second in team history.

He leads CAA Football and is seventh among all FCS players with 7.3 receptions per game.

Isaiah Coulter follows up Parker with 52 catches for 800 yards and five touchdowns.

URI Defense

Through eight games this season, the URI defense is allowing 32 points and 438 total yards per game.

The Rams defense is led by Brandon Javier-Castillo, who has 88 total tackles and two sacks on the season.

He averages 9.8 tackles per game.

Jim Philistin also has two sacks on the year.

As a team, the Rams have 11 sacks on the season.
