Man Apprehended After Stealing Liquor Truck in Providence

Providence Police say they have apprehended a suspect who reportedly stole a liquor truck in the city - before hitting a telephone pole. 

About Incident 

According to police, on Monday afternoon, a McLaughlin and Moran beverage truck was unloading at the corner of Chad Brown Street and Douglas Avenue, at A to Z Liquors.

Police said that Jeremy Fellela, 44, of Cranston, got in the driver's seat and took off in the truck.  

After police were alerted to the incident, they said a “slow-speed pursuit” took place, during which the truck reportedly lost an undetermined amount of alcohol from the open loading door.

Police said the pursuit ended at the corner of Isabella and Longwood Avenues when the truck became wedged onto a telephone pole.  

Police said that no injuries or other damages were reported and Fellella was apprehended without incident.
