Brown Earns Second Straight Win, Beat Penn 75-69

The Brown Bears got off to a fast start, jumping out to a 17-5 lead in the first four minutes of the game. Brown went into halftime with a 41-28 halftime lead over Penn.

Hobbie extended the Bears lead to 69-61 with 2:50 left to go.
Penn would get back to within six points but no closer. Brown hangs on for the 75-69 win.
The Bears were led by J.R. Hobbie, who netted 21 points while Tavon Blackmon followed up with 16 of his own.
Penn was led by Tony Hicks who poured in a game high 23 points off the bench.
The Brown Bears return to action on Saturday, February 28 when they host Princeton in the final home game of the season. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.

Five Takeaways From Brown's 75-69 Win Over Penn
Steven Spieth
Steven Spieth played 35 minutes and netted a total of one point on 0-of-5 shooting from the field and 1-of-2 from the free throw line.
Coming into this game, Spieth had reached double figures in three straight games so this just an off night for him.
Spieth did contribute in other areas, grabbing six rebounds, dishing out two assists and registering a blocked shot.
Tavon Blackmon
Tavon Blackmon netted 16 points in the game on 6-of-12 shooting from the field, including 3-of-4 from three point land.
Blackmon has reached double-figures in four of the last five games for the Bears however, turnovers have plagued him all season.
Blackmon turned the ball over five times against Penn, following up a six turnover performance in Brown's last game against Cornell.
Tavon Blackmon has had four or more turnovers in 12 games this season for the Brown Bears.
On the season, Blackmon has 87 turnovers compared to 108 assists.
Rafael Maia
In his second to last home game of his career, Rafael Maia put on quite a show for the home crowd.
Maia netted 15 points on 4-of-7 shooting from the field and 7-of-11 from the free throw line while pulling down ten rebounds for his fifth double-double of the season.
Maia also dished out three assists, had two blocks and two steals.
Rafael Maia will play his final home game as a Brown Bear on Saturday night against Princeton. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
Rebounds
Brown out rebounded Pen 35-27 in the game and managed to pull down six offensive rebounds.
Off of those offensive rebounds, the Bears cashed in for nine second chance points, beating Penn 9-5 in the second chance points category.
Rafael Maia had ten rebounds and Cedric Kuakumensah had nine to lead Brown.
J.R. Hobbie
J.R. Hobbie led the Bears with a career high 21 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field. All nine of his shots that he took came from beyond the arc and he also nailed all three free throws that he took.
Hobbie has reached double figures in three of the last four games for Brown, two of which he was over the 20 point mark.
Hobbie also added three rebounds in the game.
