Providence Police are investigating a stabbing in the city on Wednesday.

Police were called to the PC Mart on Douglas Avenue shortly before noon for the report of a stabbing victim at the scene.

The victim - a male - was taken by rescue to the hospital where he is in critical condition.

According to Major David Lapatin, the victim was believed to have been stabbed on Hawkins Street before going to the gas station.

Detectives are currently investigating.
