Parking Attendant Beaten With Baseball Bat in Providence and Hospitalized

An employee at a parking garage in downtown Providence was reportedly beaten with a baseball bat and hospitalized.

Police were called to the parking garage next to the Capital Grille in the IGT building for the report of the assault.

About Incident

Shortly after 1 PM on Saturday, officers met with the victim at the scene.

Police say the victim -- a man in his 30s -- was bleeding from his forehead.

The victim told police he was in the parking garage office when an individual entered the room and struck him multiple times on the head with what he believed was a baseball bat.

The suspect then fled the scene. 

The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment; detectives are investigating.
