Red Sox Fall to Angels 4-2 in Fister's Debut

Mitch Moreland hit a home run in Red Sox loss.
Doug Fister gave up three runs and seven hits in just over six innings, but the Boston Red Sox were unable to provide much run support as they fell 4-2 to the Angels on Sunday.

Fister was signed by the Red Sox on Friday after being released by the Angels earlier in the week.

Boston drops to 41-34 on the season and lose the series to the Angels 2-1.

Replay Costs Red Sox

The Boston Red Sox thought they were out of the inning after turning a double-play in the second after a hit by Danny Espinosa.

However, the Angels challenged the play and it was overturned.

Espinosa was credited with a fielder’s choice and an RBI following the review.

Kaleb Cowart followed up with an RBI double and Juan Gratetrol had a run-scoring single to give the Angels a 3-0 lead.

The Red Sox got two runs on solo home runs by Mitch Moreland and Jackie Bradley Jr.  in the bottom of the second and 5th innings respectively, but that is as close as they would get.

The Angels would add another run int he top of the 9th inning and go on to win 4-2.
