Red Sox Fall to A's 7-3

Boston Red Sox pitcher Doug Fister gave up four runs in the top of the first inning as the Oakland A’s would cruise past the Red Sox 7-3 on Wednesday night. 

Foster was 3-1 with an ERA of 1.50 in his prior four starts.

The loss drops the Red Sox to 82-63 on the season. They now have a three game lead in the AL East. 

A’s Take Control Early 

Former Red Sox Jed Lowrie hit an RBI triple to right field to give Oakland a 1-0 lead. Loire would then score on an RBI single from KhrisThe Davis. 

Oakland’s Matt Olson then hit a two-run home run to right field to put Oakland up 4-0. 

The Red Sox scored a run in the bottom of the inning on an RBI groundout by Mookie Betts to make the score 4-1 Oakland. 

The A’s would add two runs in the top of the third and cruise to the 7-3 win.

The Red Sox and A’s wrap up their series on Thursday, September 14 at 1:35 p.m.

The pitching matchup is Boston’s Drew Pomeranz against Oakland’s Daniel Gossett.
