The location was most recently home to J Life Mart.

The first location opened in 2024 in Pawtucket on East Avenue and Maven's confirmed with GoLocal this week that the Thayer Street location “would be opening soon.”

The company says, “Maven’s is a modern traditional Jewish deli on the Providence/Pawtucket line at the Blackstone Plaza. It pays homage to the delicatessens of the past while having fun doing so. Set in a convivial and energetic atmosphere, Maven's is the restaurant that moves forward Jewish cuisine while incorporating some new items that they hope will be a part of the culture and tradition of the future.”

It should be noted it is not Kosher.

Maven’s was founded by Jason Sugarman and Jaime D'Oliveira serves as the culinary director.

D’Oliveira is well known in part for his role as the founder and former chef at Red Stripe restaurants and Mill's Tavern Restaurant.

Efforts to reach Sugarman were unsuccessful.
