Henton's 25 Points Lead #25 PC Past Marquette, 77-66

The #25 Providence College Friars (20-9, 10-6 Big East) defeated the (11-17, 3-13 Big East) Marquette Golden Eagles 77-66 on Sunday afternoon at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. The win gets Providence their second straight ten win conference season and second straight 20 win season overall.

"We can be disappointed with how it finished, but at the end of the day, it's still a W," said Friars head coach Ed Cooley after the game.

Providence trailed 19-14 with 11:18 left in the first half before ripping off a 17-6 run to go up 33-25 with four minutes to go in the half. 

PC took a 40-29 lead into halftime and led 70-56 with four minutes to play before Marquette went on a 10-1 run to pull within five points, 71-66. Providence led by 24 points with 13 minutes left. 

However, the Friars would recover, scoring the next six points to put the game away and win 77-66 at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. 

Leading the Way

The Friars were led by LaDontae Henton who netted a game high 25 points and grabbed 15 rebounds in his second to last game at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. 

Kris Dunn followed up with 16 points, nine assists and only one turnover. 

Marquette was led by Duane Wilson who poured in 22 points, knocking down seven three-pointers in the process. 

Two Games Left

The Friars return to action on Wednesday, March 4 when they visit Seton Hall in the second to last game of the season. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
