After a Ben Bentil layup tied the game at 18, the Friars went on a 17-0 run over the next four minutes to take a 35-18 lead with three minutes to play in the half. However, some sloppy play in the closing minutes allowed NJIT to cut their deficit to ten, 37-27, at the half.

The Friars built their lead back up to 14 points with ten minutes to play before NJIT got back to within five points, 70-65, with four minutes left.
"I thought we showed a lot of our inexperience during the game, every time we stretched it to double digits, I thought we made a mental mistake, whether it was a turnover, a missed free throw, a lack of communication," said Cooley.
Providence would hit their free throws down the stretch and hold on for the win.
Leading the Way
Providence was led by Kris Dunn who had a near triple-double with 22 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists to go along with 7 steals and one blocked shot.
Rodney Bullock added a double-double of his own with 18 points and 12 rebounds while Ben Bentil poured in 19 points and pulled down five rebounds.

The Friars return to action on Thanksgiving night when they travel to California t compete in the Wooden Legacy tournament. PC's first game will be against Evansville at 9 p.m. on ESPNU.

Jalen Lindsey has been first off the bench for he Friars and agaist NJIT netted 12 points 4 of 11 shooting from the field and 3 of 3 from the free throw line.
Lindsey did not shoot well from three-point land the entire game, only 1 of 6, but the entire team did not shoot well from behind the ar.
Points in the Paint
While Providence did shoot 30 three-pointers, making four of them, the Friars also had 42 points in the paint, outscoring NJIT 42-22 in that category.
That is also a reason the Friars eneded up shooting 30 free throws.
Rodney Bullock
In only his fourth college basketball game of his career, Rodney Bullock put up his second double-double of his career with 18 points and 12 rebounds.
Bullock's first double-double came in the Friars last game against Brown.
Bullock's 18 points came on 6 of 15 shooting from the field and 5 of 7 from the free throw line.
Free Throws
After missed free throws nearly cost the Friars against Illinois it was refreshing to see PC shoot well from the free throw line in this game.
The Friars shot 25 of 30 from the line.
PC was led by Kris Dunn who went 9 of 9 from the line followed by Ben Bentil who was 7 of 8 from the line.

Kris Dunn nearly had a quadruple-double in this game.
Dunn led the Friars with 22 points on 6 of 14 shooting from the field and 9 of 9 from the free throw line, to go along with ten rebounds, nine assists and seven steals in 38 minutes.
Through four games, Dunn has 21 steals.
