Former PC Star Ben Bentil Signs 3-Year Deal With Celtics

Ben Bentil
Former Providence College star Ben Bentil has signed a three-year deal with the Boston Celtics with the first year partially guaranteed, according to the Boston Globe.

Bentil averaged 8.7 points and 4.3 rebounds in the Utah Jazz summer league earlier in the month before struggling in the Las Vegas Summer League when his play time decreased due to the return of Jordan Mickey. Bentil went 1 of 10 from the field in Vegas Summer League.

Boston now has 18 players on their roster heading into training camp, three above the maximum.

After averaging just 6.4 points per game as a freshman, Ben Bentil averaged 21.2 points per game overall and 22.9 points per game in conference play, making him the leading scorer in the Big East.

Bentil is the 7th Friar all-time to lead the league in scoring and the fourth Friar in the last six seasons to do it.

Bentil was named the Big East's Most Improved Player, joining  Kadeem Batts (2013) and Herbert Hill (2007) as Friar recipients of the Big East Most Improved Player Award.
