The Providence College men's basketball team has landed junior college transfer Emmitt Holt from Iowa's Indian Hills Community College.

Holt is a 6'8" forward who will have two years of eligibility at PC and is available immediately. He is a native of Webster, New York.

Holt played for the Indiana Hoosiers during the 2014-15 season where he averaged 3.6 points and 3 rebounds per game before being dismissed from the school after multiple off the court issues.

Holt's Off the Court Issues

According to reports, Holt was dismissed after he was cited for illegal possession of alcohol just ten months after hitting a teammate with a car after drinking.

At the time of his dismissal, Indiana athletic director Fred Glass told Peegs.com, a website which covers Indiana U. sports " In Emmitt's case, he had a situation ... where he hit Devin Davis with a vehicle last year after ... he had been drinking. It wouldn't have been a violation if he was 21, but he wasn't and he was cited. It probably wasn't his fault he hit Devin, but the fact remains that he ran into his best friend, splatted blood all across the asphalt. If that doesn't scare a guy straight, what does?

Then about 10 months later.

"There he is with two freshmen with booze in a car, teaching them the wrong way to be an Indiana basketball player," Glass continued. "He's a veteran. Not only was he a part of [the incident last year], he heard me talk to him about it. He heard [IU coach] Tom [Crean] talk to him about it -- that we weren't messing around, that there would be serious consequences if something happened again," Glass said.

The big question of course is will Ben Bentil stay or go. Bentil has declared for the NBA draft but has yet to hire an agent, meaning he could return to Providence.

Either way, Holt will join 4 star recruit Maliek White as PC's incoming recruiting class and with Junior Lomomba returning for his final year of eligibility, the Friars now have a full roster.
