PC Basketball Freshman Quadree Smith to Transfer

Quadree Smith
Providence College freshman Quadree Smith will leave the program after just one season to "pursue other academic options," according to a relase from the school.

Smith played in 19 games and averaged 1.7 points and 1.1 rebounds per game for the Friars. Smith will have three years of eligibility remaining.

Smith leaving comes just two weeks after Junior Lomomba left the program in search of other opportunities.

2016-17 Roster Taking Shape

The Friars now have one scholarship available for recruiting and have been linked to forward Kalif Young who reportedly is deciding between Marquette and Providence, according to SNY.

Last week (April 25), Providence signed top 100 recruit Alpha Diallo.

Diallo joins guard Maliek White and junior college transfer Emmitt Holt as part of the Friars incoming recruiting class for the 2016-17 season.

PC also has Isaiah Jackson, a transfer from George Mason eligible to play next season after he sat out this past season.

Providence is waiting on a decision from Ben Bentil, who remains in the NBA Draft but could return as he did not hire an agent.

If Bentil does not return to Providence, another scholarship will become available.
