Porcello Gives up 4 Runs on 6 Hits, Red Sox Lose 4-1 to Twins

Rick Porcello loses 10th game of season
Reigning Cy Young Award winner Rick Porcello gave up four runs on six hits in six innings of work as the Boston Red Sox fell 4-1 to the Minnesota Twins on Wednesday night at Fenway Park. 

Porcello drops to 4-10 on the season. 

The Red Sox drop to 42-35 on the season.

Twins Get to Porcello Early 

The Twins got to Porcello with two outs in the first inning. 

Miguel Sano hit a RBI double down the third base line to give the Twins a 1-0 lead. 

Max Kepler then hit a broken-bat single to score Sano and give Minnesota a 2-0 lead. 

Kepler would strike again in the sixth inning, this time in the form of a two-run home run into he Red Sox bullpen. 

Boston would get a run in the seventh, but that would be all. They would go on to lose 4-1.  

Series Concludes 

The Red Sox and Twins conclude their series on Thursday, June 29 at 7 p.m. 

Boston’s David Price will make the start against Minnesota’s Kyle Gibson.
