Betts Records 6 RBIs, Red Sox Cruise Past A's 11-1

Mookie Betts recorded six RBIs as the Boston Red Sox cruised past the Oakland Athletics 11-1 on Tuesday night at Fenway Park.

The Red Sox have won five of their last six games and have a four game lead over the Yankees in the AL East.

Boston improves to 82-62 on the season.

Red Sox Cruise Past A’s

Trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the second, the Red Sox offense exploded for five runs in the inning.

Boston got RBI singles from Xander Bogaerts, Christian Vazquez, and Dustin Pedroia. Betts then hit a two-run triple to give the Red Sox a 5-1 lead.

The Red Sox then got two runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings to take an 11-1 lead.

Red Sox pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez went six innings and gave up one hit and one run while striking out nine. He is now 5-5 on the season.

The Red Sox and A’s continue their series on Wednesday, September 13 at 7 p.m.

The pitching matchup is Boston’s Doug Fister against Oakland’s Jharel Cotton.
