Red Sox Fall to Astros 4-3 in Regular Season Finale

The Boston Red Sox played only two regulars and fell 4-3 to the Houston Astros in the regular season finale on Sunday at Fenway Park.

Boston clinched the AL East on Saturday, making Sunday’s game meaningless for both teams. The Astros only played four regulars.

The Red Sox finish the regular season with a record of 93-69.

They begin the ALDS on Thursday in Houston.

Astros Come Back to Beat Red Sox

The Red Sox grabbed a 3-0 lead in the fourth inning when Rafael Devers hit a two-run double and then scored on a passed ball.

The Red Sox would take the 3-0 lead into the seventh inning when Houston’s first two batters reached before Boston’s Fernando Abad gave up RBI singles to Juan Centeno, Colin Moran, and Tony Kemp.

Yule Gurriel hit a sacrifice fly to give the Astros the 4-3 lead.

They would go on to win the game.

Playoffs Begin

The Red Sox open the ALDS on Thursday, October 5 in Houston.

Game time is set for 4 p.m.
