Dunn Returns as #10 Providence Rolls UMass 90-66

The #10 Providence College Friars (12-1) defeated the (6-5) UMass Minutemen 90-66 on Monday night in Massachusetts. The win gives Providence 12 wins before Christmas for the first time in program history.

The Friars led 8-5 with just under 16 minutes to play in the first half before a Ben Bentil three-pointer and a Kris Dunn layup helped spark them to a 10-3 run to go up 18-8 with 11 minutes to play in the half.

The Friars would control the entire first half and take a 45-33 lead into the locker room at half time.

In the second half, UMass would not get closer than 12 points as PC would build a 25 point lead, 75-50, with 9 minutes left and cruise to the victory.

The Leaders

Ben Bentil led the Providence with a career high 32 points on 11 of 16 shooting from the field while also pulling down 12 rebounds.

Kris Dunn, in his return, netted 14 points and dished out 11 assists while also pulling down six rebounds.

Conference Play Begins

Next up, the Friars kick off Big East conference play on New Year's Eve when they visit #9 Butler at 2:30 p.m. The game will be televised on CBS Sports Network.
