PC's Dunn Named Big East Co-Defensive Player of the Year

The Big East Conference has announced that Providence College guard Kris Dunn has been named Co-Big East Defensive Player of the Year along with St. John's Sir' Dominic Pointer. 

Kris Dunn becomes the first Friar to win the award since John Linehan did so in 2002. This award comes after Kris Dunn was named to the All-Big East First Team on Sunday, March 8 along with teammate LaDontae Henton.

This season, Kris Dunn leads the Big East and is fifth in the country with 2.8 steals per game. Dunn has recorded 82 steals this season which is tied for tenth best single season mark all time at Providence College. 

Kris Dunn became the first player in the history of the Big East to lead the league in both steals and assists. 

Dunn has also been effective on the glass for PC, ranking fifth in the conference in defensive rebounds with five per game. 

Big East Tournament Time

The Friars finished the season with an overall record of 21-10 and 11-7 in the Big East. 

Providence now gets ready for the Big East tournament which for them kicks off on Thursday, March 12 at 2:30 p.m. at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
