Martha Sheridan: 18 Who Made a Difference in 2018

Providence and Rhode Island’s booming tourism industry would not be possible without the efforts of Sheridan, who first worked for the PWCVB in the 1990s in a variety of roles and returned as president and CEO in 2006.
Sheridan has served as Chairperson of Destination International, the parent organization of destination marketing organizations throughout North America, and is on the board of the US Travel Association.

In 2015, Sheridan was named one of the “Top 25 Women in the Meetings Industry” by Meetings & Conventions magazine.
and, in 2018, the CVB launched its neighborhood guides, allowing tourists — and locals — to see Providence’s hidden gems not just downtown, but in the areas of the city that feature top dining destinations and small businesses — all of which benefit from a thriving tourism industry.
As Sheridan takes her talents to Boston, she leaves big shoes to fill here in Rhode Island.
